Manchester’s Wax Head return with striking new garage rock single ‘Rusty Cutter’ and announce debut UK/EU tour
It takes a lot to have our attention well and truly caught these days as we’re sent SO much new music (which is great please keep sending it us!) However, now and then a band such as Wax Head rise through the ranks and grab your cranium and demand attention. Their latest song ‘Rusty Cutter’ is the perfect garage rock track. It has reverb drenched vocals, crunching guitar and a raw/unfiltered sound that is wildly infectious. The single follows the bands ‘Salt Fat Acid Heat’ EP, which was mastered JJ Golden (Ty Segall, Osees) saw the band earn critical acclaim and the support BBC Radio 6’s Huw Stephens.ย
It’s extremely clear to see that the band take influence from the likes of Ty Segall, Meatbodies, and more yet they spin it into very much their own sound. It’s a daringly infectious sound that will have you wanting to get sweaty in your local underground venue.

Speaking on the new single, the band shared:ย “Rusty Cutter pays homage to our love for garage-rock. Despite us all having various influences, it is the respect for the genre that ultimately ties Wax Head together. We wanted to blend noisy, angular, and experimental sounds into the more straightforward structures we are inspired by, but the track’s brain-tickling noise and treble-driven guitars keep it distinctively Wax Head.”
In addition to the new single the band have also announced their debut UK/EU tour which will see them play three shows at the legendary Left Of The Dial festival in Rotterdam.
