Brighton has long been regarded as a creative hub in this British Isles and this is still true in the modern age. I often find myself gazing at the amount of amazing artists and bands that operate out the city, lusting to emerge myself in their scene. Thankfully the internet allows this bumpkin to enjoy their music from the comfort of the golden coastline of Cornwall.

One said band that has caught my attention lately is the post-punk sounds of Youth Sector, their sound captures the angst of a generation. Tackling political and social subjects with an aura of nonchalant. However care free their music is their songwriting carries a poignent message, particularly in this Trump/Brexit era of misinformation.

Their recent single ‘Run’ is a synth driven track that boasts their snarling vocals as they bitterly leak the chorus “run, run, run, you’ll find only pain in relief / I am your enemy / you’ll find no friend in me”. A strong message that is backed by a cascading percussion and whirling synths. It’s daringly infectious and is just a sample of what is to come from this exciting new band.
