If you thought festival season went into sleep-mode at the end of summer Simple Things is here to prove you wrong. Last week the Bristol multi-venue event revealed details of its 2019 line-up and it’s shaping up to be very special. This South-West city sure knows how to host a party and Simple Things is no exception. Embracing all things underground and experimental, this year the festival is set to bring stunning audio-visual electronics and turn-it-up-to-eleven live performances to Bristol’s buzzing epicentre.
Behold, the full face-melting line-up for Simple Things Festival 2019:

The team at Simple Things have put together the Saturday night show of your dreams. Whities wonder-rep Avalon Emerson will be weaving some deep, futuristic frequencies through your evening straight after techno lab-coat Laurel Halo has dropped her experimental rhythms on your lucky eardrums. Add to that performances from object blue, Holly Herndon and Jayda G…Is this real?

And there’s guitars and stuff too! Alongside the likes of Squid, Snapped Ankles and W.H. Lung, Big Joanie will be bringing some sistah punk straight from London’s thriving DIY scene to festival proceedings. Haven’t got aboard the Big Joanie bus yet? Where’ve you been?! “We’re like The Ronettes filtered through 80s DIY and Riot Grrrl with a sprinkling of dashikis.” Put a big, big marker beside Big Joanie in your festival programme, this is a band you don’t want to miss.
