We are super excited by the release of the Pillow Queens excellent debut album ‘In Waiting’, which came out in September 2020. In honour of the album, Pillow Queens were invited onto The Late Late Show with James Corden this week to perform the track ‘Liffey’ from ‘In Waiting’ and talk about the album.
During their chat with James Corden, band members Pam and Sarah discussed the making of ‘In Waiting’ that was made during lockdown. Recorded in the remote Irish town of Donegal, the girls told Corden about their dip in the Atlantic to get their creative juices flowing which helped towards creating the album.
The album received a lot of praise as it won ‘Best Irish Album’ at The Choice Music Prize, as well as naming among Rough Trade’s Albums of The Year.
The entirely female band are part of Keychange, a program that promotes gender equality through investing in up and coming musical talents. With at least 50% of their artists being female, Keychange aims to change the industry for the better.
Pillow Queens plan to tour the UK this year during the Spring with one date in London and Bristol, you can grab your tickets here.
