Liam Brown aka Pizzagirl released his latest single ‘car freshener aftershave in conjunction with the news of his upcoming album ‘softcore mourn’. After the success of Liamโ€™s debut album ‘first timer‘, which came out in 2019, it’s exciting to hear the first sounds of ‘softcore mourn this month.

Taking inspiration from the likes of LCD Soundsystem and The Postal Service, ‘car freshener aftershave replicates this style both sonically and thematically. The track prospers through itโ€™s effervesce syncs and dial-tone keys combined with its warped lyrics which showcases Liamโ€™s musical capabilities.

For Liam ‘car freshener aftershave is a reminder to the internet that he still exists after a year unlike no other, he classes the track as a break-up song. The music video sees Liam in the back of a taxi after a night out undergoing his emotions. Alongside Liamโ€™s anguished lyrics, the video demonstrates both vulnerability and self-expression for the Liverpudlian musician.

The full album ‘softcore mourn‘ is set to come out on July 16th. Liam describes his journey of creating his highly anticipated second album, โ€œover the last year or so Iโ€™ve been screaming, sighing, crying and lying at my computer, which has manifested itself into my aptly titled second album ‘softcore mourn‘”. Liam will also be performing a solo tour in the UK and Europe on top of playing at festivals including SXSW, Live At Leeds, The Great Escape and Liverpool sound City this year!
