Polish artist Pjos talks us through his recent single ‘Atlas’, what he wants to achieve, and more!
We are spoilt for choice when it comes to the bedroom pop genre and although at times it can appear oversaturated, someone like Pjos comes along and makes it exciting again. After getting our ears around his recent single ‘Atlas’, a daringly infectious number, we had to know more about the artist.
‘Atlas’ is featured in our Discover Monthly playlist, listen here (Playlist is reset on the 28th of each month):
So, we sat down with Pjos and chatted all things new music, influences and more!
Kieran: Thanks so much for chatting with us today! How have you been?
Pjos: I’ve been great, thank you! I’m really happy with the positive reception of my latest single “Atlas”, and I’m working on more music to be released soon.
Kieran: How’s your 2024 been treating you so far? Any highlights?
Pjos: 2024 has been amazing so far. One of the biggest highlights has been working on and releasing “Atlas”. The positive feedback and support I’ve received since then have been incredibly encouraging. I can also mention the work on my next EP, with alternate versions of “Atlas”. It’s been a fulfilling project that allowed me to explore different aspects of my music and collaborate with my partner, who is an orchestra conductor and musician.
Kieran: How long have you been making music and when did you know it was ready to release into the wide world?
Pjos: I’ve been making music for about a year now. I started by learning how to record and mix, and quickly began working on a cover song, which became my first single, “Shoe In”. When I realised I could produce a decent result, I felt ready to release it just four months later. Starting from zero a year ago, it has been an exciting and fulfilling journey so far.
Kieran: What people or bands influence you?
Pjos: My influences are a patchwork of all the music and sounds I love. I enjoy exploring and mixing different influences, from dreamy guitars to ethereal strings. Most importantly, my music is an expression of my own feelings and internal landscape. My father, who was a professional singer, also deeply influenced my musical journey. Some of my main references include bands like Slowdive, Beach House, Sigur Rรณs, and The Cure.
Kieran: So, you recently released your latest single ‘Atlas’, can you talk us through this release and what it means to you?
Pjos: “Atlas” is a very personal song for me. It reflects a challenging period in my life when I used atlas books as an escape from a difficult home environment, leading to my passion for astronomy. The song also touches on the lasting impact of childhood trauma. Creating “Atlas” was a breakthrough for me, as it was the first song I wrote myself, symbolising my ability to fully express myself through music.

Kieran: What’s one thing you’d like to achieve with your music?
Pjos: One of my dreams is to take my music on tour and perform live in different countries around the world. I believe live performances create a unique and powerful connection between the artist and the audience, allowing me to convey my emotions and stories directly to listeners.
Kieran: Do you have any dream collabs?
Pjos: There are several artists and bands I’d love to collaborate with. Working with Sigur Rรณs would be incredible, given their unique approach to creating ethereal soundscapes that deeply resonate with my style. Iโd also love to work with Slowdive, whose ability to blend dreamy guitars with emotional depth is something I deeply admire. Additionally, exploring a collaboration with an artist from a different genre, like the electronic producer Moby, could bring a fascinating new dimension to my music.
Kieran: Lastly, what else can we expect to see from you in 2024?
Pjos: In 2024, you can expect more music releases from me. I’m working on a new song right now and plan to release a couple of singles this year, continuing to explore and expand my sound. My goal is to keep growing as an artist and connect with as many people as possible through my music.
