Brighton Punk duo Lambrini Girls have finally graced the world with their debut full length album ‘Who Let The Dogs Out’. Amongst the incredible shower of praise this album has already rightly received, this record establishes a gold standard for a punk album in the modern day.

It’s with considerable confidence that I can say this is 2025’s first landmark release for me. It’s unapologetic, political, catchy, and most importantly, in your face.

โ€œYou know how Fleetwood Mac almost dedicated Rumours to their cocaine dealer? I think we should dedicate this album to all the booze we bought at Tesco.โ€

Lambrini Girls

Phoebe Lunny (vocals/guitar) and Lilly Macieira (bass)ย have cooked up a storm with this release, offering 11 belting tunes at only 29 minutes in total (perfect punk record timing!).

The record covers a range of relevant and gripping social commentaries on tracks such as ‘Company Culture’, ‘Filthy Rich Nepo Baby’ and ‘Bad Apple’, which provide thumping retorts on issues such as workplace harassment, music industry nepotism and police brutality respectively.

Recorded with Gilla Bandโ€™s Daniel Fox and mixed by Seth Manchester, the production of this record is bold and raw, without sounding unpolished and too harsh on the ear. Phoebe’s maniacal, raging vocals are at the forefront of the mix, accentuated by a perfect mesh of guitar distortion and a wicked backbeat on each track, making the mix ideal for the Lambrini Girls to blast their message all over the world.

Perhaps the standout song and message to arise out of the record is the track ‘Cuntology 101’, taking the infamous phrase out of 2024 ‘Brat‘ discussions and offering a Lambrini Girls interpretation, stating that the art of being ‘cunty’ is as simple as “having an autistic meltdown or doing a poo at your mateโ€™s house”.

Lambrini Girls have put their own unique stamp on the punk rock sphere. With a modern punk revival in swing, there is more issues than ever to scream your head off about, so why not have a good headbang along to some Lambrini Girls?

If you’ve read this far you will definitely find yourself bopping along to these songs like I have. It’s great to see modern, fresh and relevant punk rock music doing this well. Lambrini Girls have kicked off their 2025 brilliantly with this release, and I’m excited to see what chaos they cause on their next album, let alone on their rampage through the UK, Europe and USA this year. Punk isn’t dead people!
