Rising London band Terra Twin have shared their latest single ‘Nightshift’ in true gory fashion, embracing the bands psychedelic, cinematic art rock as described by Maxim featured in CLUNK’s exclusive zine 5 interview.
Speaking to CLUNK, lead vocalist and guitarist Maxim Baldry describes the track as “the first story where I take myself out of my own voice and write as someone else. And it’s more of a social observation. More than anything else, really. And just exploring that sense of loneliness and self-loathing that I think, some people have, through this kind of perspective of an ageing detective.“
Having described Terra Twins music as “fragmented storytelling” this theme shines through in their latest video embracing gore, trippy visuals and some superb hair and make up design.
Terra Twin is formed by Lewis Spear (guitar), Joel McConkey (bass) and Alex Wadstein (drums). The group started out as a bedroom project back in 2020 when Baldry was living in New Zealand, with the other three members then joining the following year.
Terra Twin are due to play a sold-out headline show at the Servant Jazz Quarters in Dalston, London next Wednesday (March 15).
Last September, the band released the single ‘I’m Coming Up (Again)’, which followed on from the 2021 tracks ‘I Don’t Know’ and ‘Eastern Boy’.
