Alongside their upcoming tour, The Subways and The Enemy will release covers of each other’s hits to raise money for Shelter and Mind

Indie staples The Subways and The Enemy are set to head out on the road with The Holloways for their ‘Indie Til I Die Tour’, starting on 4th October in Edinburgh’s O2 Academy.

Now, alongside the tour, the two bands have announced a special release of two covers on 10th October, World Homeless Day and World Mental Health Day. With The Enemy covering The Subways’ ‘Rock & Roll Queen’ and The Subways covering The Enemy’s ‘We’ll Live And Die In These Towns‘, all profits will be donated to homelessness charity Shelter and mental health charity Mind.

On top of this, you can now grab a limited edition half and half scarf, available here. For every one sold, another scarf will be donated to Shelter to help those in need through the winter.

On the project, The Subways’ Billy Lunn shared: โ€œGrowing up with mental health issues and moving from one council house to the next, it nonetheless took me many years to realise just how entwined and circular the two are.

The uncertainty I experienced in my living situation took its toll on my already troubled mind during its most formative years – and, had my family not been provided with the secure housing that we needed, I dread to think what might have become of my mental health situation.

Check out a teaser of the tracks here.
