Rock veteran six-piece, The War On Drugs, have announced the release of their highly anticipated album due later this year. ‘I Don’t Live Here Anymore’ is set to be the band’s first studio release in over four years and fans are incredibly excited.
With a career spanning over a decade and a half, the boys have cemented themselves as on of the best rockers to emerge out of late, having received a GRAMMY for ‘best rock album’ in 2018 – it’s clear to see their multifaceted talents.
Accompanying the album announcement, The War On Drugs have released a delectable teaser in the lead single ‘Living Proof’. The album opener reigns in everything that we’ve been missing in the new music world – their undeniable chemistry and extemporaneous magic. Immediate and overtly personal, the boys are back and more mature in sound than ever. Starting off as an almost piano ballad, lush vocals are suddenly brought in in the most bold and beautiful way. With barely-there percussion rhythming away in the backdrop, the track builds to a soft crescendo where guitars are introduced and Adam Granduciel vocals deliver delicious harmonies.
Shot on 16mm film by Emmett Malloy, the accompanying video perfectly compliments the track with its wistful and delicate nature.
