Hi my name is Chea and I dove into the world of band photography midway through 2023. I was really involved in the amazing music scene at uni in Falmouth, making friends with lots of super talented people. After uni I really wanted to explore the vibrant music scene within Belfast and used this creative drive to begin my exploration into the local scene and further my photography.
Im hoping to continue my photography journey further and capture many more great moments with many wonderful people!

Wet Leg Marked A Triumphant Ending to Their ‘Moisturiser’ Tour – A Raw, Joyful Display of Energy

Wet Leg’s show at the Telegraph Building on November 27th marked a strong end to their UK & Europe tour. A wonderfully mismatched crowd of all ages lined the floor of the Telegraph; already heightened with an energetic buzz after the playfully absurd opening act of duo Faux Real. This ecstatic and exuberant air carried straight into  Wet Leg’s appearance on the stage, with Lead singer Rhian Teasdale striking strong-man like poses before exploding into playful movement.

This infectious energy overtook the room with the audience responding instantly to every surge of rhythm. The sound in the Telegraph was crisp without losing the signature raw edges that make Wet Leg’s music feel so alive. Catchy indie-pop melodies and humorous deadpan lyricism translated effortlessly onstage, only furthered by encompassing bright flashes of coloured light.

Wet Legs’ display felt raw and true to themselves, even proudly displaying a Palestine flag upon the stage the whole show. This note of solidarity and community resonated through somber moments of calm like ‘Too Late Now, where the lowkey blue lighting was accompanied by a flurry of bubbles and fog bringing forth an entrancing and ethereal scene with the song ending fittingly on the line, “I just need a bubble bath to set me on a higher path.”

In contrast another key moment was the collective cacophony of screams and cathartic release during ‘Ur Mum, a song where the band and openers all came to front of stage to scream alongside the crowd as loud and long as possible. An exhilarating highlight that united the crowd.

By the end of the night, it was clear the crowd had witnessed Wet Leg fully in command of their sound. It was a final show that felt like a celebration; loose, joyful, and unmistakably Wet Leg.
