A Popular Music (Falmouth University) graduate currently based just outside of Bristol. A voracious reader, meticulous Letterboxd reviewer and lover of all things music. Consistently championing often ignored upcoming artists from Cornwall and the South West music scene to show what amazing talent can be found outside of the big cities!

Budding prog rock duo, Agine De Poitrine, announce highly anticipated second album Vol. II’ and sell out upcoming shows in London, Bristol and Leeds.

Bursting out of the current state of dystopia we are all living in, Angine de Poitrine and their upcoming album, ‘Vol II’ promises to deliver even bolder statements, deeper, complex and alien microtonal riffs that hark from the cockpit of starships, and their signature throaty bass and drum parts that chug and motivate the songs along. This amalgamation of introducing and removing parts latch on to the listener and really make you feel as if you are hurtling through a galatical battle with these guys.

Playfulness is found throughout the two latest single releases from their upcoming album, titled Fabienk and Mata Zyklek, however  it is also abundantly clear, that behind this playfulness, the duo’s talent is revealed  – you have to be a genius to create music like this.

Somehow making more sense than anything else going on right now, these performers ‘Klek and Ken’, bedecked in their cuboid, polka-dot outfits, introduce a sense of fun and complete liberation from the norms of music and physical style. They are a breath of fresh air, whose name should be on every music lover’s lips –  albeit probably being mispronounced and explained in loose genre and band comparisons – Angine de Poitrine are at the forefront of a new exciting musical journey – one that keeps the music scene interesting and begets authenticity and excitement by bending boundaries, all whilst having fun.

For fans of Tinariwen, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Black Midi, even Steve Vai in parts, I promise Angine de Poitrine and their upcoming album, Vol II,  out on the 3rd April.
