Polka-dot clad Québec duo Angine de Poitrine step into the spotlight for the festivals opening slots
There is good news and bad news coming from the The Great Escape this week. The bad news is that The Kooks will no longer be playing the opening night Opening Beach Party at The Deep End -TGE Beach site on Wednesday 13th May. This is due to frontman Luke Pritchard injuring his back and has been ordered to rest and recover by doctors. However, this now means that Angine De Poitrine will be taking the lead with support from Montréal post-punk outfit Ribbon Skirt.

The opening night is one of the festivals most iconic moments, bringing their idiosyncratic brand of microtonal jam-rock to Brighton’s seafront for an unmissable opening night celebration.
