Rising Irish alt-rockers Bleech 9:3 follow up their critically acclaimed debut EP with the release of fan favourite ‘Figure 8’.

After premiering on BBC Radio 1’s New Music Show on the 19^th August, Bleech 9:3 have released new single ‘Figure 8’. With this track the Dublin-formed four-piece have cemented themselves as one of the most promising bands to emerge from this new wave of guitar music. The band have had an impressive run of shows over the last twelve months, including support slots with Keo and Shame, as well as festival appearances at Truck, Latitude, and Kendal Calling to name a few. This has helped to build a dedicated fan-base and a reputation for high-octane performances. ‘Figure 8’ has long been a favourite in the set so it is great to have it out in the world for the rest to hear.

‘Figure 8’ is the first new music since their self-titled EP landed in May. It starts with a quiet chugging guitar that quickly explodes into a fierce and catchy guitar riff and thrashing drums, which repeat throughout the track, before Barry (Baz) Quinlan’s roaring vocals kick in. Despite the bass/guitar tone mix not being as punchy as it is live the listener can still imagine the chaos that erupts when this song is played. The track is infused with 90s grunge sensibility- fast-paced and gritty with raw and honest emotive lyrical delivery. The band have described this emotional openness as:

“The product of crying quietly so your flatmates don’t hear you…”. The track’s release suggests the start of something bigger- a debut album on the horizon perhaps?

Bleech 9:3 show no signs of slowing down any time soon as they embark on a sold out UK and Ireland headline tour this autumn, playing some of their largest rooms to date, including London’s Electric Ballroom.
