Anya Ganesh

Hi! I’m Anya from Glasgow, Scotland and I’m so excited to be writing for Clunk! Gigs are my happy place and my desert-island band is James. I’m also a trained pianist and play a little bit of drums, and I have two golden retrievers that I love to bits.

Stockholm’s Clutter return with ‘Superstar’, a fuzz-ridden alt-rock blast that marries snarling guitars and swaggering urgency into their boldest statement yet

Superstar‘ is the latest can’t-miss from the gloriously chaotic phenomenon that is Clutter. The Swedish four-piece have dropped this gem ahead of its release and sale on vinyl on the 23rd of January, 2026.

Superstar‘ is about a band on tour, with all their hopes and dreams, while carrying the pressures and worries many times heavier than their luggage. As a statement, it sounds bleak, but Clutter has spun the angst and frustration that come with aiming for superstar-dom into a work of art.

This track has a sense of urgency, with bass and guitar that feel as though they’re pounding on your door to wake you up. The vocals are loud and aggressive at the chorus, but even by keeping the tone intact for the most part, you feel the rage, and how all-consuming the journey of an artist can be, on its good and bad days. A lyric that stood out to me in particular is one about “coming back to the town I grew up in, how I hate it”.

Clutter have an extremely striking way of both creating and presenting their music; there are audible influences, such as from post-punk’s primary school years and 90s-2000s DIY. But their style is truly their own.

The lyrics, composition and the video encapsulate the message of ‘Superstar‘ perfectly; this one’s for the waitresses practicing politics, and the piano men still at the bar: none of us are alone.

A ‘Superstar/C.L.U.T.T.E.R‘ 7″ vinyl is out 23rd January 2026 via PNKSLM recordings.
