Alt-rock duo GANS release dark and soulful track ‘NIGHTWALKING‘ ahead of debut album coming September 19th

New on the block, Birmingham-based alt-rock duo, GANS, have released a new single – ‘NIGHTWALKING’ – one of three singles released in the run-up to the arrival of their debut album on September 19th via Peter Doherty’s Strap Originals label, with the tracks produced by Ross Orton (The Arctic Monkeys, Amyl and The Sniffers).

Different from their previous two singles, ‘IT’S JUST LIFE’ and ‘I THINK I LIKE YOU’, GANS ditch the gritty, unapologetically loud post-punk sound they are known for (think SOFT PLAY) and takes on a new sound entirely with ‘NIGHTWALKING’.

Keeping fans on their toes with this track, GANS try their luck at a dark, soul track, and indisputably succeeds. Brooding and intense, the track follows vocalist and drummer, Euan Woodman’s experience with the shadowy sides of love, stating “Love does not always have to be clean and pure – it’s not that simple and one-dimensional. It can be dark and cruel. It can be late night f******.”

The duo recruited their friends from Ibibo Sound Machine to help include brass instruments in this track, creating a theatrical soundscape, one that wouldn’t be amiss on the soundtrack of a gangster film. The brass sections, along with Woodman’s crooning vocals, echoes Arctic Monkey’s later music. 

In the lead up to their debut album’s release, GANS will be on tour across the UK, bringing these singles to life.
