Genre-bending cowboys hailing from Brighton lasso your airwaves this week as Trip Westerns return with their soulful, bluesy banger – ‘Alive’
Accompanied by Ellis Dickson of Fat Dog’s blistering live band, ‘Alive’ is really Trip Westerns springing to life. Mixing and certainly mastering their signature blend of nostalgic Americana and sixties west coast sound and pairing them with one of the most spellbinding blues voices in the biz – the five-piece have certainly hit their stride with this one.
‘Alive’ is a chaotic yet tidy cluster of instruments all played to perfection by their masters. This is one to get you on the dancefloor, whether that’s at a gig or a good ol’ western barn dance.
Trip Westerns sound is essentially the south coast meeting the Deep South of the US of A and falling in love. A masterful twist of a classic western feel with just the right amount of blues, psychedelic and rock influences to sound downright outrageous – and outstanding.
