We start at the beginning, with the most important meal of the day: Breakfast. When not at home or challenging Pete Doherty’s breakfast title in Margate, Alex says he’s at Atlas Cafe in Harlesden in North West London.

I then ask Alex his favourite spot for a morning stroll, semi-ironically he answers with Waltham Abbey in Essex. “Me and Rob did it this morning down the Meridian Way” (it took all day). Alex adds that Waltham Forest is his favourite borough of London.

With summer coming to an end but the heat wave still going strong, I pose to Alex the subject of his favourite place to spend a sunny day, he answers “Sporting Clube de Londres in Westbourne Park” in far west London with the perfect view of Trellick Tower and a unique balance between school canteen and local pub.

I am sure that many people as well as myself are eager to know where the chart topping band Sports Team go for their weekly shop. I, dear reader, have found this for you: Iceland.

As Sports Team are Sports Team, I think it important to have an idea where the South- London based band go to play their beloved sport (mostly cricket), Alex had a few places in mind but his absolute favourites are the “free to use nets in Kennington Park” (SE11) and “Paddington Rec is good too” (W9).

I think one’s favourite tube line is very telling of a Londoner’s character, Alex Rice answers “the Bakerloo” stretching from Elephant and Castle to Harrow & Wealdstone, with highlights of Oxford Circus (proudly displaying a Deep Down Happy advert on the platform), Maida Vale and Harlesden.

Coming to the end of the night, Alex’s favourite spot in London to catch a live set from fellow music makers is “Always the Shacklewell” in East London; he adds, “The Lexington (N1) is good too”. For beer garden lovers, Alex recommends “Grand Junction Arms in Harlesden”. On top of that; the best night out is in fact a night in he says, it’s “always an innie, everyone back at ours”.
