Last Friday the up and coming musician, Alex Amor, released the third track โ€˜Motionโ€™ from her debut EP โ€˜Love Languageโ€™. The full EP produced by herself and Karma Kid is set to come out on the 5th January 2021.

To go alongside the song, Alex has created a short film and poem that encompasses her thoughts on โ€˜Motionโ€™ and how we all go about our lives. She conveys โ€œMotion is something we can either flow with or against, and Iโ€™m learning to accept that the only thing we can rely on is that nothing stays the same.โ€

You can watch the film here:

Ephemerality – the property of lasting for a very short time, is a silver-lining for Alex as she embraces change though her music. The 23-year-old moved to London from her home town in suburban Glasgow after spending the summer in 2018 solely focusing on writing and recording music. Alexโ€™s life in London has helped her grow as an artist, she wrote the tracks that were to become โ€˜Love Languageโ€™ during her first year in the city.

The title โ€˜Love Languageโ€™ is in reference to โ€˜The Five Love Languagesโ€™ written by Gary Chapman which illustrates the 5 different ways humans show affection in a relationship. However, Alex comments โ€œThe title track is about a relationship that fails to align in that way. Opposites can sometimes attract but in this case, they repel. I am obsessed with paradox and juxtaposition – calm and chaos, dark and light, serious and playful.โ€

You can catch Alex at The Great Escape Festival in May 2021 that takes place in Brighton.
