Newly signed Dublin musician Annie-Dog drops her debut single, ‘The Pressures of the Heart’
‘The Pressures of the Heart’ is a magnetic, nuanced introduction that showcases Annie-Dog’s diverse indie-pop music. The track is compelling with its genre-mixing sound. Its musical layers include raw indie, drum and bass beats and pinches of grunge. The instrumentals sit in union with Annie-Dog’s gentle, rasp-edged pop vocals, effortless in their delivery.
The composition is vulnerable and honest as we delve into the juxtaposition at play. The emotions are laid down in this track, carrying you as they grip and stay with you through its raw performance. It’s not just the lyrics that address the fragility of opening your heart up to someone; it’s also in the disparate sound and video performance. The self-production rounds off the overall exposition – it’s the whole multimodal arc.
