Manchester shoegaze four-piece cruush have released their highly anticipated new single ‘Features‘, ahead of their debut EP

โ€œI guess you can say our music has the sweet elements of having a crush on someone but the screeching of an industrial car crusher.โ€ cruush vocalist and front-person Amber Warren explains.

Their new single ‘Features‘ is no exception. While it starts out slow and dreamy, it also showcases the groupโ€™s harder side with a loud, shoegaze-y chorus.

The single arrives just before their debut EP, set for release on 14th April via Heist or Hit.

The track has an important place in cruushโ€™s story. The band say it is their oldest song, which Amber wrote before she went to uni. โ€œWe gazed it up adding a slightly noisier chorus and the cacophonic ending,โ€ the band said.

Amber explained that the track is โ€˜catharticโ€™ to her: โ€œIt feels like my brain is being scanned and the lyrics are incredibly vulnerable. The song is about how I battle with my mental health, and how I never feel safe or secure, even when everything around me is normal.โ€

cruush have bagged support slots with BDRMM, NewDad and The Lounge Society and are definitely an act to keep an eye out for.

The debut cruush EP, ‘Wishful Thinker’ is out on 14th April via Heist or Hit.
