Welsh indie-punk band Panic Shack announce the upcoming release of their self-titled debut album with new single ‘Girl Band Starter Pack

With the release of their new single ‘Girl Band Starter Pack,’ Welsh punk band Panic Shack have announced the release of their long-awaited debut album ‘Panic Shack,’ out on 18th July via Brace Yourself Records.

After taking the punk world by storm with their unapologetic, empowering and riotous tracks, the album is set to expand the band’s artistic territory, aiming to “span the full range of the feminine experience.”

This debut studio album was initially teased with the release of the single ‘Gok Wan’ in March, which provided a critical commentary into diet culture and tabloids of the 2000s.

Where ‘Gok Wan’ is parodic and laced with a clever sarcastic edge, the band’s newest release, ‘Girl Band Starter Pack’, is an optimistic, raving look into female friendships and the joys of the ‘girl group’. The track, prefaced with chatter and clinking glasses and recorded in the garden of an Amyl & The Sniffers gig, makes you want to sit in the sun with your mates and get up to some good mischief.

The band have said that they want to effectively remove the themes of romance and sex from their upcoming album. Instead, they hope that ‘Panic Shackwill serve as a celebration of friendship and the bond between the band members.

Panic Shack promise “the sonic equivalent to a coming-of-age film unfolding over a single night … beginning by approaching a bar and ending with an impassioned speech at sunrise about how much you love your friends.”

If these first two singles are anything to go by, then the band’s upcoming album will more than deliver on this promise.

Debut album ‘Panic Shack’ is out on 18th July via Brace Yourself Records.
