With bands only just being able to trickle back into studios across the country, Speedy Wunderground are releasing ‘Quarantine Sampler 2’, a two-track release from the label in-lockdown. For the label, bringing bands into the studio wasn’t an option during lockdown, hence, ‘THE QUARANTINE SERIES’ was started. This featured producer Dan Carey under his techno alter ego Savage Gary and collaborated with a range of artists over the internet. Collaborators in this series have so far included the likes of PVA, Warmduscher, Kate Tempest and Goat Girl.

Reaching his 20th upload in the series, Carey is releasing ‘Quarantine Sampler 2’. A two track/artist 12” having been released digitally on 6th October and set for limited physical release on 13th November. Talking on the release, Pierre Hall, label co-runner, said “We chose two tracks/artists that I think we really wanted to shed some more light on. Two that we really didn’t want to go under the radar.”

The first release is ‘Wait & See’ from Bajan artist RoRo and the second is ‘Cigarettes Pt. 2’ from London-based youngblackmale. Keeping busy throughout the lockdown period, the label has picked up ‘Best Small Label’ by Association of Independent Music with Carey winning ‘UK Producer of The Year’ at the Music Producer Guild Awards.

You can listen to Savage Quarantine Sampler 2 now and pre-order a physical copy of the 12” on the Speedy Wunderground website.
