The Lounge Society announce their highly anticipated debut album and share triumphant lead single ‘Blood Money’
The Lounge Society have announced the release of their hotly tipped debut album ‘Tired of Liberty’ – out Aug 26 alongside lead single ‘Blood Money’ and a string of headline UK tour dates.
The Speedy Wunderground signing’s ‘Generation Game’ became the label’s fastest selling 7” ever and was named by BBC 6 Music’s Lauren Laverne as one of her Songs of 2020. It’s no wonder their debut is eagerly awaited. The band wanted the release to be a snapshot into their fortnight recording schedule with Dan Carey (Fontaines D.C., Kate Tempest, Wet Leg) during November 2021 in which they penned all tracks except ‘Generation Game’.
Intertwining guitars on ‘Blood Money’ showcase the four-piece balancing their fast paced, sometimes percussive guitar work, paired with a restless bass and drum dance groove. The track is continuously intensifying with pace or uplifting backing vocals. Something that is revisited throughout the debut as Dan Carey noted, “we wanted to start with a hard focus and end chaotically.”
Speaking of the single the band says, “for us (‘Blood Money’) is a song that completely captures this record and us as a band. It feels like the perfect development from our previous releases to our debut album and exactly how this record should be introduced.”
