November has been a busy month for CLUNK. We’ve had four shows over the month and plenty of content going out too. We rounded our month off with a special gig that saw Long Tonic, Blue River & The Manatees play to a full venue. It was magnificent to watch all the hard work pay off and a room of full of music lovers jamming to some fantastic music.

Opening the night was the groove infused Long Tonic, a band oozing in cool. The mellowed sound matched with wailing guitars encompasses life on the coast. It’s music for when you’re pining for those summer days. It’s effortlessly relaxed similar to bands such as Ocean Alley or Sticky Fingers.

Following on from them is the fiery Blue River, local Cornish boys with a real rock n roll spirit. Blending elements of rock, indie and Brit-pop into one splendid package. It was a fierce performance that saw the local lads really shine.

Closing the night was the rising indie outfit The Manatees, who came down from Southampton. The drive was (thankfully) worth it as they had a bustling FIVES in the palm of their hands. They played their recent singles ‘What If’ & ‘Headstrong’, the latter was bellowed back at them. Although fairly young they have a cool and calm stage presence. They’re a charming bunch of guys who have a delightful indie sound. This gig and their recent tour was a sign of things to come, they’re already pulling in impressive Spotify listeners and this show was evidence to as why. The Manatees are going to be a very successful band.
