The Mysterines are currently crusading around the U.K on their near sold out tour. So far they have been an unstoppable force that explodes in each town or city they enter. In a short time this band has captured their audiences and are on a path to domination. It’s no surprise though as their music is a well thought out, fiery concoction of rock n roll goodness. Leadsinger Lia’s powerful and infectious vocals lead this band backed by a delightful rhythm section. This is just the beginning for The Mysterines, keep your eye on them through 2020.

After getting hooked on their new single ‘Love’s Not Enough’ we wanted to know more about the band. We spoke about 2am drunk Tik Toks, their music (obviously) and if they ever thought they’d be in the position they are today.

Kieran: First of all thank you so much for taking the time to answer our questions, we know you’re busy! How has tour been so far?

Lia: The tour has been really great thanks!

Kieran: What are you looking forward to the most during this tour?

Lia: Playing all the SOLD OUT SHOWSSSSSS!!!!

Kieran: When you first started did you think you’d be selling out shows across the country? How does that feel?

Lia: I never really think that far ahead, but to say I never expected it also suggests that I don’t think we’re good enough for that sort of success, and that’s not true because I believe in what we do. It feels great to reach that milestone so early in our career and keeps me very motivated and excited for the future.

Kieran: What did you listen to growing up and how has that shaped The Mysterines?

Lia: Growing up I listened to mainly The Beatles. They’re the best band in the world and are still a big influence on me.

Kieran: What can we expect from you guys in 2020?

Lia: Lots of great shows, lots of great outfits and lots of great music.

Kieran: Do you have any funny tour stories you want to share with us.. anything weird or wonderful happen to you?

Lia: Some guy the other day in a kebab shop asked to take a photograph of us on his phone for his social media…but then from nowhere started playing some crazy music on his phone and started filming us, and then uploaded it to TikTok? It was like 2am as well, and we were all fucked, so it was very confusing but funny.

Kieran: If you could sit down and chat with anyone who would it be and why?

Lia: Adrienna Lenker from Big Thief

Kieran: Who are you listening to on repeat right now?

Lia: It’s one of our own compositions, basically it’s Down With The Sickness by Disturbed remixed with Don’t Start Now by Dua Lipa.
