TRUCK Festival is just round the corner and it’s time to start planning out who you want to see at this year’s edition

Festival season has arrived and as the little music nerds we are, we’re scrolling through this years line ups and picking out our favourites. Next up is TRUCK Festival, hosted out of Hill Farm, Oxfordshire. As usual, it’s a weekend jam packed with the best and brightest in the indie scene with knockout headliners such as Nothing But Thieves, Kasabian, and Courteneers. However, nestled amongst the lineup is a litany of excting artists that we strongly recommend you go and see… here are our top 5.

CMAT

Hot of the heels of her incredible Glastonbury performance CMAT takes the stage at this years TRUCK Festival. Get ready for sassy interactions, hilarious stories, and a stage presence that would make Freddy Mercury weep. Not to mention a sound that is daringly infectious, particularly new single ‘The Jamie Oliver Petrol Station’. CMAT is a star in the making and this will likely be the last year you see her as a warmup, as opposed to headliner.

Westside Cowboy

Hot new upcommers Westside Cowboy are causing a stir amongst the BBC Radio 6 dads and further afield. Still relatively new in their cycle the band have amassed hundreds of thousands of streams and are tipped to be the next big thing. It’s a nostalgic guitar driven sound that is reminiscent of the past Britpop and indie explosion of the early 2000’s, with a healthy sprinkle of 90’s slacker rock for good measure.

Lambrini Girls

If you’ve not caught wind of Lambrini Girls by now then there’s really no hope for you at this point. The punk outfit has been on a cascading mission since the release of their debut album ‘Who Let The Dogs Out’ (and before). They’ve become known for their politically charged music and intense live show that is equal parts poignant and chaotic. They’re not to be missed at this years TRUCK Festival, or any festival to be honest.

Gurriers

The Irish Post-Punk outfit has been making waves since a string of single releases that culminated in an impressive debut album. Not to mention building notoriety for their intense and wild live show. Now, the band hit the festival circuit before they utterly explode. It won’t be long till this band are flying in the same lanes as Fontanies D.C. They are an absolute MUST see at this years TRUCK Festival.

Block Party

A band that needs no introduction and one of the greatest bands to have existed in the last 20+ years. First exploding into the blossoming indie/indie sleaze scene of the 2000’s with their debut ‘Silent Alarm’ which included hit singles such as ‘Helicopter’ and ‘Banquet’, songs that have traversed generations and become iconic among almost all age groups. With this in mind, the band will be playing this iconic album from beginning to end at this years TRUCK Festival… this is an experience NOT to be missed.
