From the intimate soundscapes of the Poly, to the rebellious pulse of Beerwolf, everyone got a taste of musical magic at Wanderfal 2023
We kicked off day 2 with a visit to the CLUNK stage at Beerwolf. DUCKS woke us up with a perfect explosion of noise and energy. Itโs safe to say the local legends shook off everyoneโs hangovers and got us ready for another groovy day.ย
Next, we crossed the road to the Cornish bank, where Kakafoni Groove Collective dominated the stage.ย ย Their set, which consisted of an ensemble of keys, groovy guitar riffs and lo-fi drum beats proved to be popular with the crowds. Whilst some whipped out some funky moves, others were taken on a mellow journey to the depths of musical fusion.ย
Next on the agenda, was the classically acclaimed ensemble, Dau, aka Dummenstar Anzunehmender User. This was perhaps one of the most moving performances of the day. The intricacies of string work accompanied by the low tones of the double bass created a perfectly granular soundscape, only enhanced by the ambient simmer of synth, from the harmonium. The standing ovation both before and after Dauโs set really said it all.ย
Finally, we headed back to home turf, where the โhaunted Cornish dream-pop punkersโ Mopes had the crowd going wild. The amalgamation of upbeat riffs, pulsey drums, and versatile vocals had Beerwolf bursting at the seams. Electric vibrations traveled through Falmouth as afternoon turned to evening,ย ย setting the precedent for another unforgettable night.ย
