Manchester indie rock band Westside Cowboy have announced their debut album ‘It Goes On,’ alongside lead single ‘Kick Stones (The Boys)’
Today, Manchester’s Westside Cowboy have announced that their debut album ‘It Goes On’ will be released on 21st August via Island Records. Alongside the announcement is lead single ‘Kick Stones (The Boys),’ out now.
Having only formed three years ago, Westside Cowboy’s rise has been fascinating, from releasing two excellent EPs to winning Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent Competition to touring with Black Country, New Road and Geese recently.
‘It Goes On’ was produced by Loren Humphrey (Geese, Cameron Winter, Wunderhorse) and was recorded in Leeds’ Greenmount Studios. “First albums are often my favourites because you can tell there’s a point to prove. You’re firing on all cylinders because you know that this may never happen again,” drummer Paddy Murphy shares.
Lead single ‘Kick Stones (The Boys)’ is characteristically nostalgic, propelled by galloping drums and a slow build of guitars. The shared vocals sound wonderful together as always and the track’s development is incredibly satisfying, picking up a real pace and momentum as it progresses, much like the trajectory of the band itself.
Debut album ‘It Goes On’ is out on 21st August via Island Records.
