Isle Of Wight indie rock band Wet Leg are back with new single ‘catch these fists’ and highly anticipated 2nd album

Babe wake up, Wet Leg are so back!

Indie rock sensations Wet Leg have exploded back onto the scene, dropping their new single โ€˜catch these ๏ฌstsโ€™ and announcing their highly anticipated second album โ€˜moisturizerโ€™, set for release on July 11th with Domino.

The Isle of Wight five-piece founded by Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers have once again captured the internetโ€™s attention with their signature blend of witty lyrics, thrashing instrumentals and undeniable energy โ€ฆ but this time thereโ€™s a twist.

With โ€˜catch these ๏ฌstsโ€™ thereโ€™s more of a cruel undertone from Teasdale and if this doesnโ€™t immediately assert Wet Legโ€™s continued evolution, I honestly donโ€™t know what will.

Touring with Ellis Durand (bass), Henry Holmes (drums) and Joshua Mobaraki (guitar, synth), Wet Leg proved themselves to be the ultimate live operation. This time around, all five members of Wet Leg have writing credits on ‘moisturizer‘.

Working with producer Dan Carey, Wet Leg chose to stay true to themselves, following their muse so to speak. In March 2024, the band jetted off to the seaside town of Southwold in Suffolk to write. They lived together, worked all day, watched horror movies all night and soon enough, ‘moisturizer was born.

โ€œWe were just kind of having fun and exploring,โ€ says Hester Chambers. โ€œWe focused on: Is this going to be fun to play live? It was very natural that we would write the second record together.โ€ adds Rhian Teasdale.

As it happens a couple of times on moisturizer, the major catalyst behind โ€˜catch these ๏ฌstsโ€™ was an interaction with a belligerent man (yuck!), as chronicled in the song’s final verse. However, thatโ€™s not to say that awful men are the sole focus of moisturizer, fans can also expect love songs of every type: stressed out, gooey and mushy, blissed out and mysterious.

Although Teasdale previously felt allergic to writing love songs, moisturizer is defined by its sheer exuberance and they ended up finding the process wholly empowering.

If thereโ€™s one thing for sure and, honestly, there isnโ€™t a doubt in my mind: Wet Leg are so back. And well โ€ฆ. they’re here to stay.

New album ‘moisturizer’ is out on 11th July via Domino.
