Louie Cameron channels inner McCartney whimsy with latest single ‘Canina Canoona’

Louie Cameron is a musicians musician, an artist that has climbed the ranks through a variety of other bands and projects but now he steps confidently into the limelight as a solo artist. It’s always exciting when musicians such as Louie make the step forward and really spread their wings and delve into their expression as well as sound.

The latest single ‘Canina Canoona’ blends that 60’s psych-tinged sound with a delightful dash of Americana, creating something that is textured, layered, and most importantly, delightfully listenable. It’s a real ear tickler that will have you humming the chorus throughout the day. It’s very reminiscent of the post-Beatles early Paul McCartney showing influence from early Wings and the solo album ‘Ram’. Put simply ‘Canina Canoona’ is Playful, fun, and full of whimsy.

The release is taken from his forthcoming ‘Do You Wanna Go Out’ EP, which releases 28th April and will coincide with a live performance at the infamous Third Man Records in London. Speaking on the EP Louie says: โ€œHaving something thatโ€™s truly my vision at the type of music and not catering for anyone else. Iโ€™m very proud of this EP, itโ€™s very โ€˜meโ€™. Iโ€™ve always been able to hide behind and support others before this. Fortunately, Iโ€™ve found others who agree to bring it to life on stage.โ€

Produced by Pat Dam Smyth and featuring Callum Merrett (Bad Sounds) on drums, the song grew from lo-fi phone demos into a cinematic psych-pop recording. The unusual title comes from a string of names beginning with the first letter of Cameronโ€™s girlfriendโ€™s name, which he jokingly used to tease her.
