South London’s Fat Dog announce debut album ‘WOOF.’ alongside new single ‘Running‘ and news of a UK/EU tour

It’s Fat Dog, baby!

Following on from the two exhilarating singles ‘King Of The Slugs’ and ‘All The Same’, South London five-piece Fat Dog have today announced their debut album, ‘WOOF.’, out on 6th September via Domino. Alongside the announcement comes news of a huge tour across the UK and Europe, as well as several festival appearances this summer.

Alongside ‘King Of The Slugs’ and All The Same’ is brand new single Running‘. The track is a suitably frantic and chaotic dive back into the unique, twisted and dramatic world of Fat Dog. After a jittery drum build up, a sax blast announces the drop into a seriously fun, dancey mix of genres and influences. After such a sinister and tense build up, ‘Running’ is unpredictable and silly, but works so so well.

Frontman Joe Love is charismatic as usual, taking control of the track just as he does his swarms of fans at a Fat Dog gig. Their sound is hard to pin down, combining the chaotic energy of dance-punk, the pounding beats of techno and even elements of klezmer and EDM. If it helps to explain anything, their influences apparently include Bicep, I.R.O.K., Kamasi Washington and the Russian experimental EDM group Little Big.

With three wild tracks to keep us fed, we can’t wait to see what the full project will provide. Catch Fat Dog live in 2024. It will be unlike any gig you have experienced.
