Daniel Lincoln is currently occupied buying a lens for a camera he doesnโ€™t own. Interests include post-punk, new-wave, and the Windmill Scene. Daniel has an intense hatred of hair metal and small plates. He can be found in your local small venue, using a fisheye lens big enough to kill a man.

At the small East London venue 93 Feet East, Bar Italia showcase new music to a sold out crowd, with support from Stuart McKenzie

With the release of their new single โ€˜Cowbellaโ€™, bar italia have taken their energy to a whole new level. Having just announced a whole load of new dates across the world, this is definitely a band worth seeing.

Opening on Thursday night was multi-disciplinary artist Stuart Mckenzie who graced the stage with a combination of spoken word over house beats. The dance punk energy of Stuartโ€™s performance was the perfect warm up for the excited crowd. Highlights of his set were โ€˜Close Shave (Get Out the House)โ€™  and โ€˜Going on F.M.Tโ€™.

350 people packed into 93 Feet East in East London where bar italia had the room moving, with strong stage presence and a fluid set moving between fast paced tracks like ‘punkt and slower more intimate tracks like โ€˜glory hunter โ€™. A varied mix of unreleased music and familiar tracks meant that there was something for everyone.

New track โ€˜Cowbellaโ€™ was an instant hit, with bar italia embracing indie sleaze, perfect for a summer house party. After finishing their set with punkt,’ the band returned to shouts of ‘one more song’, playing a new track for the encore, and giving the fans even more new music to look forward to.

Anyone around any of the venues below should definitely take the time to catch bar italia, as this might be the last time you will see them on a stage of this size; they are definitely one of London’s fastest up and coming bands.

A European/North American tour has been announced with dates in October and November, with dates in London, New York and Paris. With 4 albums under their belt, bar italia are still at the beginning of a hopefully long career and are well worth keeping an eye on.
