Iโ€™m a writer hailing from the distant land of Norfolk. With a deep love for vinyl, currently standing at over 100 in my collection. When it comes to picking a favourite artist, it will always be the sounds of Trish Keenan and Broadcast.

Latitude Festival returns for its 20th year, continuing to breathe new life into the UK festival scene – here are some of our picks

This year’s Latitude Festival crosses over with a very special anniversary; the continual best kept secret of the UK festival roster is now entering its very special 20th year of platforming the very finest independent and alternative talent, and over at CLUNK we are making the trip to Henham Park to hear the best-of-the-lot up close and personal.

Latitude’s strength continues to be its skill at having its finger right on the pulse of the very best of tomorrow’s stars and this milestone year is no different, including some of our very favourites such as Getdown Services, Westside Cowboy and Lime Garden to name just a few out of an absolute feast of a lineup. We dive through the line up to highlight just SOME of the artists you need to check out.

GETDOWN SERVICES

Photography by Matt Wellham

Coming in hot here with our favourite Minehead duo – these lads don’t self proclaim themselves as “Britain’s Best Band” just for a laugh. Seeing is believing and after the past few years Josh Law and Ben Sadler have had, I would take their word as absolute gospel. These two on the Saturday Sunrise Arena is going to hit like an absolute earthquake. Latitude might be celebrating its 20th anniversary but there won’t be any cake and candles with these two delightful reprobates.

Get yourself in the mood now by listening to the pure poetry that is title track ‘Crispsfrom their 2023 debut album, and pair that with ‘Something French’ from last year’s exceptional EP ‘Crumbs 2’, it’s going to be rowdy, absurd and most importantly unforgettable down the front for this one.

FFO: Warmduscher, Yard Act, BIG SPECIAL

MAN/WOMAN/CHAINSAW

Photography by Anna Hatfield

London-based art rock/post-punk supremes Man/Woman/Chainsaw sit at the dynamic intersection between snarling aggression and a deceptive tenderness, flicking between serene and sinister making any of their live shows a thunderous affair. The group’s trip to Henham Park is perfectly timed around the release of their debut album Cannonball. The slanted, hazy guitar of Goddamn, Lizard Man!’ is going to rip ringing out from the Sunrise Arena.

FFO: Heartworms, shame, Modern Woman

JUST MUSTARD

Just Mustard are a quintet hailing from Dundalk, Ireland who over the last few years have made the extraordinary leap from post-punk angst and friction to an evolved sound that places them leaps and bounds ahead of the rest. 2025’s third album, WE WERE JUST HERE’ is a whirlwind of post-rock, shoegaze, and dream pop. For some inspired pre-festival listening check out ‘ENDLESS DEATHLESS’ for a crash-course on how to take the boldest of steps forward as a band.

FFO: My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Swirlies

GOODBYE

Photography by Annie Dorrett

Goodbye are an emerging Brighton band who are catching fire at just the right moment, arriving on the indie scene full of confidence, safe in the knowledge they are pushing the envelope further out and enjoying the unknown territory that comes with such exploration. Last month’s debut EP ‘These Things Take Time’ is a wonderful project that takes its influence from all corners of the dream-pop/shoegaze community but with a fondness for glittering, airy guitars that actually makes them quite hard to pin-down.

FFO: Yves Tumour, Cocteau Twins, Lush

MAMA OH NO

Saturday on the BBC Introducing stage is the time for something extra special from a very local family 4 piece. Mama Oh No are an absolute force, barnstorming, surf-guitar infected with a scuzzy ramshackle sound personified on tracks like 2025’s single The Mutant’. The group are made for the live stage, through the rain and festival mud.

Over here at CLUNK we like to feel like we know a winner early doors when we hear one and if you are joining me at Latitude this year, I’ll be down the front for this one. Where will you be?

FFO: Snapped Ankles, Flat Worms, Squid
