SOFY, Mary Middlefield & SLAG have been added to Portsmouth’s Night Currents Festival, playing alongside Lime Garden & Prima Queen.
Night Currents Festival is returning to Portsmouth’s Wedgewood Rooms and The Edge Of Wedge for its fourth year. Twelve bands will now play the two stages on October 3rd, with SOFY, Mary Middlefield and SLAG all recently added to the lineup.
SOFY, who has recently teased her new album ‘How To Perform Magic‘, will be bringing her brand of alternative pop to the Portsmouth festival. The London-based singer/songwriter, who has toured with the likes of Alfie Templeman, Sea Girls and also played at Sabrina Carpenter’s BST Hyde Park last year, has recently released her latest single ‘Wishbone‘.
Also added to the lineup is Mary Middlefield, a Swiss-based musician who has released her latest album, ‘Will You Take Me As I Am?‘. Middlefield has just completed a debut run of UK and European shows, selling out both UK headline shows in April.
Brighton quintet SLAG will also be joining SOFY and Mary Middlefield. The band, who flit between art rock and grunge, have supported Opus Kink, HotWax and Welly and will be sure to put on a high energy performance.
At the time of writing, the artists will be joined by nine other bands, including Lime Garden, Prima Queen, ARXX, My First Time & Ain’t. Night Currents promises no overlapping in set times, meaning gig-goers can move between The Wedgewood Rooms and its sister venue and not miss any of the acts. โWe think this is our biggest and best line-up yet,โ says Chloe Robbins, Night Currents Co-Founder. โWeโve been dreaming of having Lime Garden on the bill since we first started the festival, and their new album is easily a contender for Album of the Year for us already! Itโs been hard keeping the line-up a secret, so we canโt wait to finally talk about it.โ
Night Currents Festival is due to take place on Saturday October 3rd.
