Bristol punk group Heavy Lungs announce their exciting signing to Alcopop! Records with a blistering new single, ‘Dancing Man’
With their last release, the ‘Measure’ EP, being released in 2019, the last 4 years have been seemingly quiet for Heavy Lungs. Though, through their cult following and wild live shows, the band have remained legends of the Bristol punk scene.
Now, with their first single since 2019, Heavy Lungs announce they have been signed to Alcopop! Records, home to Cheekface, DITZ, KEG and many more.
The new single, ‘Dancing Man’, is characteristically brutal, sinister and distorted. From the start, the instrumentation is disgustingly heavy. The drum beat feels like a stomping giant marching towards us as the descending guitar riff feels incredibly ominous. The noise that Heavy Lungs creates is somehow both dark and very fun.
The track revolves around frontman Danny Nedelko’s shouted vocals, describing the ‘dancing man that dances in my head’. His voice is deranged and, with each repetition of the line, Nedelko’s delivery is slightly different, shifting and disturbing in a different way each time.
